This series of VIDEO are CLIPS that I think might interest people. HARD TO EAT THROUGH A FEED BAG - Shag decided to leave after eating his lunch. He found out he couldn't eat any more with the feed bag on his nose. SHORTY STEALING WATER - Shorty thinks what ever - water or feed - is in the next pen is better than what he has. PATCHES AND THE BOT FLY In the fall there is a little bee type flying insect that lays eggs on the horses in order to complete their life cycle. It can't be more than 3/4 inch long but one little bug can move an entire group of horses. THE DOGS ENTERTAIN - There are times the dogs are fun to watch when they play. This was one of those times featuring Slinky, red heeler, and Noki, boarder collie. SNAKE DIGGING One summer as a lesson started we spotted this bull snake 'digging'. The lesson was delayed while we all watched him. TUMBLEWEEDS HAVE A USE The Mini, Peanut, found a use for tumbleweeds after a storm blew in an abundance of them.
This series of VIDEO CLIPS will give you some information on lessons and what riding is about. SADDLE UP - A look at the saddling process during a lesson. FIRST TROT This is a 4-year-old on Teefa experiencing her first trot. RIDING BAREBACK Riding bareback means you do not have a saddle. This is a clip of different students riding bareback at the walk, trot and lope/canter. WHY DO I BOUNCE? Each gait (walk, trot, lope/canter) that the horse is going has different foot falls, therefore that sets the tone for bounce in the rider. A CHRISTMAS VISIT This girl rode Goober for me for several months so we could use her in the school again. She came for a visit (2012) and I put this video together.
These are some STORIES of student successes that occur during their riding lessons. These two stories should be read one after the other. #1 - Meltdown #2 - Meltdown to Role Model When students are presented with a situation in which they have to do more than usual I recognized them with a Cow Boy or Cow Girl Up. The title of this album is The Cowboy Way.
